Citigroup, one of the largest banking holding companies in the United States, is exploring the use of blockchain technologies and digital currencies to optimize payments and customer service. Launching its own US dollar-pegged stablecoin would mark a significant step in expanding the group’s payments and investment ecosystem.

The market will resolve to YES if, by 23:59 ET on December 31, 2025, Citigroup issues its own stablecoin pegged 1:1 to the US dollar and enables users to transfer or trade it either on a blockchain or within the app. An announcement without an available transfer or trading function will not count as a launch.
