Will Putin and Zelenskyy meet by the end of the year?

Ending the Russia-Ukraine war is widely viewed as unlikely without a personal meeting between the countries’ leaders. Diplomatic efforts by the United States and European states could make such a meeting feasible.

The market will resolve to YES if, between 00:00 ET on May 19, 2025 and 23:59 ET on December 31, 2025, an in-person interaction between Putin and Zelenskyy occurs that includes an exchange of words, a handshake, a direct conversation, or another unambiguous personal contact. Mere physical proximity, eye contact without interaction, or attendance at the same event without direct contact will not count.
