Iran refuses to cooperate with international organizations on issues related to monitoring of nuclear and military developments. In connection with this, the European Union may impose sanctions against it.

The market will resolve to YES if, during the period from 00:01 ET on August 13, 2025 to 23:59 ET on September 30, 2025, the European Union as an institution adopts an official act imposing sanctions of any kind against the Iranian state or members of its government. The date the sanctions take effect does not matter.

For the purposes of this market, "sanctions" include tariffs, trade restrictions, financial penalties, expulsion of diplomats, visa bans, targeted restrictions, and other commonly recognized sanctions.

Sanctions addressed exclusively to private citizens or organizations of Iran that do not affect the Iranian state or members of the Iranian government, as well as unilateral measures by individual member states of the European Union, do not count.
