The European Union regularly updates its restrictive measures against Russia.
The market will resolve to YES if, between 00:01 ET on August 25, 2025 and 23:59 ET on September 30, 2025, the European Union officially adopts a legal act that imposes new sanctions against the Russian Federation or members of the Government of the Russian Federation. “Sanctions” include tariffs, trade restrictions, financial measures, expulsions of diplomatic staff, visa or immigration bans, personal listings, and other actions commonly recognized as sanctions. Only EU-level acts (e.g., Council decisions/regulations and/or European Commission measures) count; measures by individual member states do not count. Sanctions that concern only private Russian individuals or commercial entities without explicitly targeting the Russian state or members of its government do not count. Adoption of the act within the window is sufficient regardless of its effective date or any delay, suspension, or subsequent blockage.
