WhatsApp - a popular messenger from Meta Platforms, Inc. that millions of Russians use every day. In recent years the state authorities of the Russian Federation have tightened their control over foreign internet platforms, periodically restricting access to them. Since 2022, other Meta services such as Instagram and Facebook have been blocked in the country.

The market will resolve to YES if by 23:59 UTC on 30.09.2025 at least one of the following conditions is met:

- a competent state authority of the Russian Federation officially announces the introduction of technical restrictions that make the WhatsApp application impossible or significantly difficult to use on the territory of the Russian Federation;

- these technical restrictions take effect and reliable sources confirm that they were imposed by decisions of state authorities of the Russian Federation.
